The Sacrament of Matrimony comes about through a promise made by a man and a woman before God and the Church, which is accepted and confirmed by God and consummated by the bodily union of the couple. The form is "I do"by which both spouses indicate their mutual consent to the marriage covenant. The matter of the Sacrament of Matrimony is the mutual consent and covenant to live together as husband and wife as well as the consumption of the sacrament. The minister is the spouses with clergy as a witness for the church. The rite of the Sacrament of Matrimony begins with the celebration of matrimony, then is the questions of consent, consent, the reception of consent, blessing and giving of rings and lastly the universal prayer.
The first reading I would chose for my wedding would be Genesis 2: 18-25. In this reading the Lord God says that he will create a partner for man. The meaning behind this story shows that men and women complete each other and they will do this through marriage. Also how God creates someone for everyone because man should not be alone and confess their love through their spouse in union with God. The second reading i would chose is Mark 10:6-9. In this reading, the man leaves his father and mother and cleave to his wife. This means that that the two become one. What God has joined together let no man divide. The union of husband and wife bond shall never break. The third reading I would chose is 1 Corinthians: 13. In this story it explains that if there is no love, there is nothing. It also shows that love is patient, kind and never ending. There is no envy or boasting. Love is not rude or self-seeking. "Love does noy delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."
